welcome! my name is jenny. i reside in Fredericksburg, Virginia, teach 9-12 science in Prince William County, and serve as the Outreach Director at Crossroads Church. during my college years i became actively involved with the campus volunteer center. from latch-key programs with the boy’s and girl’ club to building homes across the united states with habitat for humanity, my love for helping others grew into a passion and that passion was purposed. i graduated with a degree in Secondary Education: Biology and General Science. immediately after graduation i decided to work at a children’s home while applying to the Peace Corps. within the waiting period of deployment, an unfortunate snow skiing accident deterred that opportunity. however, the Peace Corps mentality never left me.

early in my teaching career, i had an opportunity to travel to El Salvador on missions. while speaking one evening about my past of sexual abuse and journey of healing to a crowd gathered on the street, i realized the importance of being a voice for those who don’t have one. speaking out, fighting for truth, and becoming a survivor became my pursuit. over the years to follow, that pursuit led me within the pockets of poverty throughout the United States, Africa, India, Haiti, Thailand, and Cambodia. these experiences launched a cause within my depths for anti-trafficking and i obtained my Master’s Degree in Human Services Counseling: Trauma and Crisis Response.

i have remained partnered with the SHE Rescue Home in Cambodia by raising financial support, selling merchandise created by the girls and their families through microenterprise, as well as leading team trips to the SHE Rescue Home and surrounding villages. i am determined to remain God’s eyes, voice, arms, feet and hands, by embracing a world without borders and Amos 5:24 – “let justice flow like a river, righteousness like a roaring stream”.

in 2019 after a long journey with God, discovering the depths of the definition of love, i became a foster mom. i would have loved to have children of my own but, that was not God’s plan so i decided to purpose that pain. being a foster mom has been the hardest calling on my life, but i am truly honored to be able to love within the gap and help families heal. i created the copper tree jewelry line out of my continual personal journey of healing, designing pieces that serve as little reminders of truth and hope (read more about the copper tree in ‘the story behind’).
